We enjoyed the ocean view in balcony, the sunrise in nearest beach and loved their two big cats. This stay is one of our best memory in big island.”

• “I had a wonderful 3 nights here! This lodge is tucked away on a beautiful piece of land filled gardens and then spills onto moon like black volcanic rock that dumps into the ocean. You can watch the ocean at breakfast and sleep to the sound of the waves. The breakfast is DELICIOUS and the coffee AMAZING. They are warm and hospitable. I would be back in a heartbeat!”

• “Raven and Mark's lodge was open, friendly, comfortable, and had a beautiful zen view of the ocean and gardens. My room was on the main floor of the house with a king bed and en-suite bathroom. It was clean and very comfortable. Raven and Mark were very nice and provided really nice maps of the beaches and neighborhood. They knew a lot of history of the area. Raven made a really nice breakfast with excellent coffee. Walking out to the ocean over the lava flow was beautiful. I highly recommend their lodge to others!”

• “I have been to big island 3 time and stayed at many places - this one was by far the best. The place was magical! Middle of tropical jungle, access to the volcanic beach, excellent location. Place very clean. Delicious breakfast. Raven and Mark are very friendly and helpful (we walked to Mauna Loa and they left warm Jacuzzi for us to help with sore muscles). Highly recommend.”

We breakfasted on home-grown fruit, met the local cohort of geckos, and were just steps away from the Pacific crashing into lava flows. We loved our lush getaway, and spent the day exploring surrounding beaches. This little bohemian community is a gem. It is a rare treat to get to know the locals when being a tourist, and we'll never forget our visit here.”

Nicely stocked fridge, good internet, great location for day trips to black sand beach, Teacups pools, wonderful restaurants in Pahoa (Paulo’s and Kaleo’s)... Amazing hosts! Raven is very attentive and makes a delicious breakfast with an incredible view! Her partner Mark, knows the area inside out and can direct you to points of interest and beauty. Walk to their beach down a lovely path for sunrise - definitely worth the early rise to witness a new day dawning!”
